Couples Therapy with Jenn

Staying together is one thing. Building a relationship you both want to be in is another. .

You can love each other, be committed to your relationship, and still struggle with communication, intimacy, trust, or the demands of everyday life. My work is with couples who want to be together and are willing to take an honest look at what it's going to take to make that relationship healthy and fulfilling for both people. We're not working toward staying together at any cost. We're working toward a relationship where you can both feel safe, connected, supported, and free to continue growing as individuals.

What We Work On

A healthy relationship needs room for two people, each with their own needs, histories, desires, and responsibilities. Our work may focus on:

  • Communication and conflict: Having difficult conversations, understanding what each person is trying to communicate, and learning how to disagree without losing connection.
  • Emotional safety and trust: Building a relationship where both partners can be honest, vulnerable, and confident that their experiences will be taken seriously.
  • Individual responsibility: Recognizing the expectations, assumptions, and personal patterns each person brings into the relationship, and learning to own those experiences without making the other person responsible for managing them.
  • Intimacy and connection: Strengthening emotional, mental, physical, and sexual intimacy, including making room for desire, affection, pleasure, and adventure in long-term relationships.
  • Partnership and shared life: Navigating parenting, careers, responsibilities, changing roles, and individual ambitions while continuing to prioritize the relationship.

The goal isn’t to eliminate every disagreement or meet every need perfectly. It’s to develop a relationship where both people can be themselves, communicate honestly, take responsibility for their part, and continue choosing each other.

What You Can Expect From Me

I don’t take sides. I pay attention to both people and to what’s happening between them. You each have your own experience of the relationship. And then there’s what actually happens when those experiences meet. My job is to help us examine all three.

I’ll ask difficult questions, point out patterns, and help put words to things you may have struggled to communicate. I’ll also challenge each of you to recognize your own contributions to the relationship, even when it’s easier to focus on what your partner is doing. We won’t spend our sessions deciding who’s right and who’s wrong. We’ll work to understand what’s happening, identify what each person can do differently, and practice bringing those changes into your relationship.

Who This Work Is For

I work best with couples who are committed to their relationship and want to invest in making it better. You don’t have to agree on everything. You don’t have to be in the same place emotionally. And you certainly don’t have to have it all figured out. But I do ask that both partners are willing to participate, take responsibility for their part, and work toward a healthier relationship. My job isn’t to convince you to stay together. It’s to help you examine the health of your relationship and make informed decisions about its future.

Two Ways to Work Together

Traditional Couples Therapy

$250 per session | 90 minutes

Weekly or biweekly virtual sessions focused on the relationship. We’ll establish treatment goals based on your concerns and use our sessions to work through challenges, practice communication and relational skills, and evaluate progress over time. This option offers consistent support for the relationship itself, without dedicated space for individual processing.

The Six-Month Couples Container

$1,300 per month | Six months

A more involved experience that makes room for the relationship and the individual work each partner brings to it. We meet every week, alternating between:

Week One: One 90-minute couples session together.

Week Two: Each partner has a separate 50-minute individual session with me.

This structure allows us to explore the relationship together while also giving each partner dedicated time to examine their own experiences, patterns, and responsibilities. The individual sessions remain part of the overall couples treatment, with clear expectations about confidentiality and how information is handled.

The container is designed for couples who want a more consistent and involved therapeutic process.
